Within the past few weeks, I’ve developed an odd quirk. Every time I’m alone, and especially when I’m facing a mirror, I begin moving… carefully. One smooth motion at a time, perhaps ending with a stutter as if gears are locking into place. Mostly I look like an idiot, but every once in a while I think I nail it and–for a brief moment–I unsettle myself. I pass into the Uncanny Valley.
